Vron Wood is a 300-350m elevation west-facing upland oak woodland with hazel coppice, alder, birch, and a little holly and other broadleaves. The trees are well spaced, and the ground vegetation is a mixture of grassland and bracken, making it easy to walk around. The woodland is characterized by varied woodland floor vegetation and a reasonable density of broad leaf species. Views from the wood are over the surrounding valley to the west and south. The woodland has been classified as Ancient & Semi-Natural Woodland, and is listed on the " Priority Habitat – Deciduous Woodland" Inventory. Access is via a right of way along a track through two fields, with a continuation of the track running through the middle of the wood.
