The proposed house features a U-shaped layout with three interlocking forms: the Grade II-listed timber barn and two contemporary wings, creating a partially enclosed, south-facing central garden. The single-storey extensions minimize the impact on the surrounding countryside while retaining the significance of the existing structure. The design includes a open-plan reception with a mezzanine, masses of pivoting glass, and a single-family room leading into a kitchen with glazed sliding doors opening to the garden. The house features five bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, three of which look out over a pond in the enclosed garden, and a gallery space along the westerly wall. A 25-metre indoor pool with spa facilities and a sixth bedroom are located on the lower-ground level.
