The 147-hectare Low Keirs property lies south-east of Patna village in East Ayrshire, an area known for its suitability for commercial forestry. The site benefits from good climate and growing conditions for conifers, supported by a well-developed infrastructure. Good access is provided via the A713 Agreed Timber Transport Route, with a bridge at Point A1 allowing reliable connectivity for forestry operations. A shared road leads to gates at Points A2 and A4, while a 4×4 track extends through the northern section to Point A3, enabling practical access across the holding. The property itself is a modern afforestation scheme, planted in 2021 with improved Sitka spruce (estimated yield class of 24+), along with around 27 hectares of broadleaved woodland and a 70-hectare commercial conifer area, including approximately 10 hectares of newly planted conifers. The woodland also borders the River Doon, creating a natural edge and enhancing the site's amenity and landscape appeal.
