Bickle Wood is an established woodland with a mix of broadleaved and coniferous tree species, including ancient oaks, cherry, ash, sycamore, sweet chestnut, hazel, and spindle. The woodland is dominated by mixed broadleaf trees, with an area of conifer woodland at the northern edge, and features a south-facing aspect. Level areas at the south of the lower track offer ideal camping spots. There are also old badger setts, tracks, and snuffle holes, as well as habitats for red and roe deer, and a variety of bird species. The woodland features an old earth bank with mature oak trees, as well as remnants of past agricultural use, and access is available from a quiet country lane with ample parking.
