The woodland is a diverse Ancient and Semi-Natural Woodland located on the outskirts of Tunbridge Wells, with a terrain that is varied and includes gently sloping areas and level sections. The woodland floor is dominated by mature veteran oak, beech, and sweet chestnut, with a range of other trees, including birch, alder, sycamore, ash, and holly, as well as occasional conifer. The understory is characterized by grasses and ferns, and the ground is seasonally flooded. A central clearing provides views across the site.
