The woodland, known as Beazley Wood, is situated over two miles north of Braintree, on level fertile loamy clay soil, and consists of a mature canopy of beech, oak, and Scots pine, with other tree species including cherry, sycamore, sweet chestnut, ash, birch, hornbeam, and lime. A seasonal pond is located in the northwest area, surrounded by poplar trees. A shrub layer below features holly, hazel, and smaller holly clumps at ground level. The woodland has undergone sympathetic thinning, and the beech stems may produce quality timber in years to come. A small area is suitable for onsite wood processing, and the woodland offers rural views from the southwest and north.
