The woodland, known as Calamint Wood, is a cleared area surrounded by conifer trees that leads onto grassy woodland tracks. The tracks run along the length of the wood and are flanked by a mix of conifer and broadleaf trees, including mature oaks and a variety of flora on the woodland floor. The eastern boundary of the wood overlooks open fields, where morning sun filters through and has encouraged the growth of different species, including birch and hazel. A belt of mixed broadleaf species runs south through the wood, featuring mature oaks and clearings. Grassy verges along the tracks provide a habitat for wildflowers, butterflies, and insects. The woodland has a renovated track that offers easy vehicle access and is a private area with no public footpaths.
