The subject site is broadly rectangular, approximately 2.3 acres in size, with various single and two-storey school buildings located around the perimeter and a central hardstanding playground. Access is from Lovaine Terrace in the north west. The site is bounded by residential streets to the west and south, a holiday centre to the east, and existing school playing fields to the north, with the Grade I Listed Berwick Bell Tower to the south.
