Penton Linns Woodland extends to approximately 22.41 hectares (55.38 acres) and is situated on the western bank of the Liddel Water, near the Scottish border in rural Dumfries and Galloway. The woodland features a mix of coniferous and deciduous trees and is adjacent to farmland, which extends to about 8.48 hectares (20.95 acres). The land rises from 50 to 80 meters above sea level, and a core path and part of the site are within the Penton Wood and Penton Linns Site of Special Scientific Interest, respectively. The Liddel Water forms the eastern boundary of the property, and tiered cascades occur as it drops towards the southern boundary. The property includes riparian ownership and the fishings are let until 2027. The woodland was partially felled in 2024 and is subject to an outstanding restocking condition, which the seller will meet prior to entry.
