The property is a freehold electric-to-grid anaerobic digestion (AD) plant with a generation capacity of 1.4MW, constructed in 2010 by Weltec. The plant consists of a feedstock holding tank, three digesters, two CHP engines, pasteuriser tanks, heat exchangers, a pre-separation storage tank, a digestate storage tank, a separator, and a services building. A new food waste reception building, constructed in 2020, has been added, requiring completion and commissioning, and includes a weighbridge and welfare offices. The facility has been developed as a purpose-built site with a large steel portal-framed food waste reception building, ancillary offices, and storage areas. The site also includes a yard area with a weighbridge and welfare offices, and can potentially accommodate expansion opportunities, including gas export to a nearby pipeline, with up to 1,000 m3/h of capacity.
