Nantbele woodland is a primarily conifer woodland covering 11 miles north of Carmarthen, stretching across 85% Norway Spruce and 10% broadleaves in the north-western half, and 80% Sitka Spruce and 10% broadleaves in the south-eastern half. The woodland is completely flat, making it accessible for working with hand tools. The forest features numerous small ponds, created by mounding the ground for planting, which could be enhanced and extended. Access is provided via an excellent stone track suitable for vehicles at any time of the year. The track runs through the wood, with turning circles at the end. Boundaries include fenced areas, access tracks, and a large earthbank along the south-western edge.
