Located within the High Weald National Landscape, Hardwick Meadow is a secluded parcel of planting land offering an exceptional opportunity to create a woodland retreat. The meadow is largely open, with limited planting of alder and willow along the northern boundary and scattered throughout the meadow. A young hawthorn hedgerow has been established along the northern boundary. The Forestry Commission identifies the site as a priority for woodland creation, and native broadleaved trees, including fruit and nut trees, are encouraged. The site offers scope for various planting and habitat creation schemes, including woodland rides, glades, and areas of open grassland.
