Wadworth Wood is a mixed woodland in south Yorkshire, divided by the M18 motorway, with a southern section dominated by broadleaves such as beech, oak, sycamore, and ash, and a northern section featuring more conifers, including Corsican pine, Scots pine, Lodgepole pine, and Japanese larch. The southern section contains mature stands of thinned beech and other broadleaves, while the northern section is more commercial with conifers. The woodland is of ancient origin, with some areas classified as a Plantation on Ancient Woodland Site (PAWS) and others as Ancient and Semi-Natural Woodland (ANSW), which may be eligible for grant aid to maintain or restore its ancient woodland status.
