Stonehurst Wood is a portion of Little Park Wood in rural East Sussex, located southwest of Broad Oak village in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The woodland is situated on north and westerly sloping loamy clay soils and features a diverse canopy of oak, sweet chestnut, hornbeam, birch, ash, and cherry trees. The shrub layer includes holly, hawthorn, and hazel coppice, along with younger stems of hornbeam and birch. The woodland floor is carpeted with flora such as bluebell, wood anemone, and honeysuckle during spring and summer, and is home to eagle fern and lady fern. Far-reaching farmland views can be enjoyed from the southeastern boundary, which also features a historic undulation likely originally an ancient access route.
