Fiddlecott Wood is an ancient replanted woodland situated near the top of a small valley rising from the Little Dart River in rural mid Devon. The woodland gently slopes from 300-400 metres above sea level and features mature native oak trees with a well-developed understorey of hazel, holly, beech, and occasionally self-seeded conifers. The woodland has been historically coppiced, providing a sustainable source of timber and promoting biodiversity. Along the southern boundary, an old boundary stone inscribed with "Devon TA" marks the top of the woodland. Shared access is through a country lane, passing a gate and a stoned forestry track to the woodland entrance. The woodland includes a private 70-metre stretch of riverbank along the Little Dart River, offering fishing opportunities and access to the scenic river.
