Issacot Wood is situated in a lower valley at approximately 110 metres above sea level, within the Trelaske woodland, an Ancient Replanted Woodland. The woodland is dominated by fir trees, with oaks scattered among them, and features a thriving understorey of younger native broadleaved trees. The forest floor is rich and diverse, with mosses, ferns, bluebells, primroses, and other species, including indicators of ancient woodland. The woodland is home to a variety of wildlife, including roe deer, foxes, badgers, buzzards, goshawks, and songbirds. A shared area of picturesque riverbank along the River Inny offers a stunning natural haven, where you can spot kingfishers and otters. The woodland has a network of cut paths and mammal tracks, and a bench and space for wild camping are available.
