The fishing is subdivided into two beats: Milton and Indies, each with its own unique features and characteristics. The Milton beat features 16 pools of idyllic fly water, including the famous Red Brae pool, which is known for its variety and ease of fishing. The Indies beat is downstream of Milton and has 9 additional pools to fish, with a mix of deep holding pools and smooth gliding pools. The beat has two well-thought-out crossing points and a centrepiece pool, Indies, which is regarded as one of the finest pools on the South Esk for both salmon and sea trout. The property is accessible by car, with Edinburgh and Aberdeen less than a two-hour drive away.
