Dura Forest is a 424-hectare mixed-age commercial woodland in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, which generates rental income from a wind farm development. The site was originally planted in the 1970s and has undergone felling and replanting in accordance with a forest plan. The wind farm, commissioned in 2005, comprises 54 turbines, with 10 turbines and an anemometer mast located on the forest, generating an annual base rent of £72,000, which is index-linked. The lease is due to expire in 2044 and 2046, with expectations of extension and repowering subject to necessary consents. The forest also features 20 hectares of broadleaves and open ground with developing broadleaf regeneration, improving biodiversity.
