The property is a 33.22-acre (13.04-hectare) mixed broadleaf woodland with areas of open ground, situated between Kirkcudbright and Castle Douglas, approximately 7 miles from Castle Douglas and 4 miles from Kirkcudbright. The woodland is ring-fenced and has a grass access track to the east, with a padlocked entry gate. The land sits between 110 and 118m above sea level and has two watercourses running through it. The property is classified as Grade 4(2), 5(1), and 6(2) according to the James Hutton Institute. Two 10kW wind turbines, erected in 2012, are situated on the property, generating an average annual income of £10,000 per year through a 20-year Feed in Tariff contract.
