Coed Madog is a young mixed broadleaf wood with vehicular access, located in a beautiful location in the Ffestiniog valley, midway between Porthmadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog. The wood occupies north-facing ground with varied terrain, including level, gently sloping and steeper slopes. The previous stands of mature larch were blown down in 2016 and the wood was replanted with a mix of native broadleaves, including birch, oak, willow, rowan, beech, sweet chestnut, cherry and holly. The young trees are well established and the wood is home to an overgrown seasonal stream, an overgrown internal hard track, and a hard track on the north and south boundaries.
